What can we expect to see from your collections in the future? They supported me through it all and always have and they're just as much a part of it as I am in a sense." How important was your family in the process? I didn't change plans, I guess he confirmed what I already knew." The first portion, the pre-collection I had done which was totally expected of me, and then I had my second part still to complete, which is what you saw on the runway. "It was totally expected, I expect it from him. How did it feel when Tim delivered his critique of your designs? It was important to show who you are and stay with it." The problem was, I think, for each challenge they tried to go maybe a little different, kind of up-and-down and that's why they were in the top or bottom or in the middle. Everybody was an amazing designer, and were really good at what they did. "You're there and they don't know who we are, the judges don't see any past or previous work or anything so the first challenge was, 'Who are you?' Well, I know who I am so that's what I showed them. You defined your aesthetic as a designer very early on. It was about drama, exaggeration, fun and the point is it's only a ten-piece collection and you have to grab the attention from the first one and carry it to the end." I've had people I've met who've said it was their favorite thing. The others were beautiful lines but they were clothing lines. Nina told me, 'You're the only one who made a runway collection'. I wanted to make it a show and those were borderline costumes out there, like, 'What is it?' It was all part of the collection. I had 14 other outfits I could have replaced them with. If it wasn't right for what I was doing they wouldn't have been there. "There was that one and the one that looked like an explosion in the middle.
Where were you going with the purple outfit? We're all happy for each other and we'll be good with the outcome'." We all sat down after the show and said, 'What's done is done, this is strictly up to personal taste. "There was a chance anybody could win, it could have been Mila. What did you think during the judges' critique? It feels right to me! It's what I set out to do!" I would say it's emotional overload, but it feels fantastic. "All season you work, work, work and don't really focus or think about it and then when they say it, it's kind of like all the emotions and everything that is put aside is all there at once. We caught up with Seth as he chatted about his win and plans for the future.
